Maya and 33(11) have taken turns incubating their precious eggs and we should see the first hatch towards the end of the first week in May.
Karen said:In a few days, we should see the first hatching - exciting times
Certainly looking forward to that Karen!

Oh how incredibly sad, Sheila. Everything is crossed for the remaining two. Thank you for the update...
What next is going to happen this season??
Thanks Sheila, be interesting to see what Rutland come back with
Here is a video of Maya checking then removing the egg at 10:52
The eggshell looked quite soft and she also appeared to be doing a lot of pecking at something on the nest so I wonder if it had broke
I'm so very sorry, Karen...
It's sad Sandra but nothing in comparison to LoTL and LG which can only be described as totally devastating especially Laddie. We visit LoTL regularly each year and I'm still in shock about the whole situation.
Here at MB we have still a lot to be thankful for - intrusions are minimal and they still have 2 eggs which we assume after Maya's action this morning are viable.
Long may it last
Hello Karen not looked in here for a couple of days due to the drastic situations on LG and LOTL not had much time! Expected all to be going along nicely, so bit of a shock to see only two eggs! But like you say compared to the other nests this is not too significant but still sad! Oh dear difficult watching the nests this year but never the less, privileged we can share their lives, how ever hard it is in the wild for them!
Any idea which egg it was?
Hi LAM, yes, no hatchling as yet this season and its already a very difficult year for us all.
I live near Edinburgh so LoTL is just over the bridge for me and I really am devastated. We're members and regularly visit. I know strange as I seem to report on the MB nest but I do closely follow LoTL as along with Tweed Valley, it is actually what we would term my local nest. I started watching 2008 when the Lady of the Loch ruled supreme. Her partner then was the laird and when he failed to return Laddie came along. So I've watched him since 2012 and I'll never forget Laddie stepping up to the task when Lady took ill, many of us thought it was her end, what a star he was. He has had a rough time of it these past few year but I'm glad he came home. I really am in bits about it.
But anyway back to MB
Sorry, with my absence, I haven't really been following as closely as I usually do so have no idea which egg.
