Maya and 33(11) have taken turns incubating their precious eggs and we should see the first hatch towards the end of the first week in May.
Oh my goodness. No doubt eveyone was shouting at Maya to get it back into to the cup! Well done to the ROP team for the recovery. I image many projects would say it's not a man made disaster, so we can't interfere. I congratulate them all.

Totally agree with you, Sheila!
Not long home to discover my pc has crashed and reading now in complete shock of today's events.
Thank goodness Rutland were standing by and quick of the mark.
It is often written the great location of the MB nest with fish in abundance but with them being so readily available - I've seen 33 return in under a minute - it also is a great disadvantage as all too often the fish are living and we've seen chicks killed.
Thanks for all the updates and videos. Hopefully I can get my pc fixed for tomorrow.
My fingers are firmly crossed for you, Karen!

The "LONG" version!
.
(Celebrating being able to sit at my laptop for the first time in a couple of days - that's enough!)
IMAGICAT
Morning ALL, pc running albeit slow - dreaded windows upgrades.
I re-watched the incident and no words. I'm sort of stunned as to how stupid Maya was and it is not the first time that it has been 33 that has had to come in to remove a live fish.
Anyway, back to the nest
05:41 33 arrives with a fish
Maya feeds bob with her back to us and I can see the fish tail moving - another live fish.
07:07 another feed, again Maya has her back to us
Notice from Rutland, cams will be down this morning
Morning all
Thank you Karen
Thank you Scylla for the vid,and Sandra for the links re the Drama of yesterday...Phew!!
33 is so devoted and as, has been mentioned it is not the first time he comes to the rescue,I can imagine him standing guard and watching dopey Maya( Ha in the nicest sense)
saw chat mentioned this morning ,around 06.48, a Duck ,on the far right ,considered landing on nest but then second thoughts.
08:35 Maya got up for a stretch
and soon back down with bob safely tucked under her
Off now, hopefully a nice quiet day here. SYL
