Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

Poor thing, don't know what she's screaming for but given the months she's had, it's hard not to just feel sad for her.
NC0 wants a fish, Ash. The male must have been in view all the time she has been calling. He's on the birch at present (21:49)
22:11 NC0 on the perch; male still on the birch. She is not calling as often now (in fact she is quite quiet)

22:18 Resting her eyes. NC0's probably tired herself out, bless her
NC0 stopped dozing and began calling again at 22:23 when the male left the birch. He flew over the Loch, behind the trees
Once he was just out of cam view, NC0 landed on the nest, shouting
NC0 stood still in this position for a couple of seconds, tracking him?
More calling
NC0 made her way over to the back right of the nest and continued to vocalise
And more of the same after turning herself around
Back to the perch at 22:27
Night cam came on at 22:38. She was quiet
NC0 at present, 23:00
29th May
Morning All,
There have been four visits to the nest by the male - none of which have produced a fish for NC0
5:39 NC0 came down from the cam post when he brought a large bundle of grass
5:41 Possibly a small stick
6:31 Another stick
7:58 And another one. NC0 was on the cam post, yelling for a fish
He looked up at her
She came down to the nest
No mating attempts were observed on any of the male's visits and he hasn't been back since flying off at 8:01
At present, 8:37, NC0 waiting quietly
It's a beautiful, calm day weather-wise, let's hope the male brings a lovely fish for her soon!
Thanks for these updates. Yes weather is looking much better today :)
9:32 NC0 still waiting
I'm out until late this afternoon but will check the cam every now and then on my phone. Finger's crossed the male comes 'up with the goods' for her by then! BFN

You're very welcome, Ash!

According to your snaps, SANDRA, the misty morning cleared between 06:30 and 08:00, so let's hope he can find his prospective fiancée a fish now...
On checking up-to-date... not yet.
