Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

2nd May
Morning Wendy and All,
As far as I can tell, NC0 has remained on the nest so far this morning.
At 5:15, NC0 was on alert to a possible intruder. No chipping or alarm calling. She rose from the eggs
Flapped her wings
Mantled
Then settled back down seconds after - no threat seen
NC0 at present, 7:23

Off to work. BFN
NCO left the nest about 4 mins ago. Wonder if she has gone fishing
She's back. Must have gone for good fly around
It would be good if she went fishing - it's getting to where it might be better to abandon the eggs and start afresh with a new partner next year. Heresy, I know, but if all the eggs hatch, then we will just have to watch a tragedy unfold on nest cam. Unless of course, Laddie comes back soon, having had a full mental reset, and starts regular fish deliveries. Emphasis on regular.
Unfortunately I have to agree that Laddie is not going to return and it would be betted for her to go fishing. KL5 would be a good partner for her and then he would stop the problems at Loch Garten

What a great solution - but too many airmiles between nests, what a shame!
IMAGICAT
NCO left nest at 12:42 and hasn't returned yet (nearly 15 minutes). Have to assume she's gone fishing
LOL have put update on FB stating no sightings in usual fishing spots of LM12 and that NCO is becoming more 'fidgety' due to hunger
