Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

Hi Belinda,
Oooh she really did have a go, didn't she BUT, after he had flown off, she went to the back of the nest and retrieved a headless fish that had gone over the edge
She made a few attempts to get it
She tried again...
Success!

NC0 was calling for more at 11:35
She rearranged a couple of sticks
The, after standing on the back edge of the nest, calling
And giving her right wing a stretch
She headed off, 11:59
I think this is NC0 at 12:42 but stand to be corrected. She/he was working on the stick to left.
Definitely NCO
12:24 Male to the nest (he'd brought a small stick) - cam zoomed in. NC0 was calling, loudly! (The set of first zoomed pics, edited in)
A quick preen
He bent down to pick up a small stick
He dropped it on the front edge
He flew away at 12:25
Cam zoomed in again at 12:27 after the male had brought a long, thin, twiggy stick to the nest (seen on the left). NC0 was already back on there. She was fish calling
He fiddled with the stick
NC0 joined him to have a go too! She was still calling
It pinged back up!
She gave up!
He flew off at 12:31
Cam panned back out
NC0 at present, 13:08
BFN
The male is an impressive looking bird
He is, Belinda, and very determined to win NC0 over as well
NC0, after spending some quiet time alone on the nest, flew off at 13:33
I can't find any visits to the nest since then
14:28
NC0 to the nest, chipping, 16:19
She mantled and checked the sky
Then took off
Back again almost immediately, short contact calls
She relaxed
NC0 made her way towards the back of the nest - she was watchful
She flew off at 16:24
