Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

The Dark Male, after quietly looking around (with his focus mainly on the left, across the inlet)...
Flew up to the cam post
A dark necklace. It was the first chance to see his chest during this long visit, he had remained with his back towards us
Brief alarm calling, chipping and rustling when landing on the cam post, then silence
To note: He did spend a fair bit of time preening himself, resting and closing his eyes on occasion

I've been hours trying to do this post but seem to have hit a wonky Full Editor box :(((
(I can't quote you, our new system has suddenly gone haywire.)
(And I just pasted in the main content of the failed post and it's nowhere to be seen !!! )
To cut a long story short, are you able to explain how to acquire a PERSISTENT LINK, and can they be acquired when there are several live streams on one channel?
Thank you in anticipation, as they say. I'm too exhausted for niceties
IMAGICAT
There was a very brief visit to the perch at 21:31 (apologies for the evening blurred pics)
Moments before landing, a flight could be seen heading down the inlet
Seconds later, flying back out
Around the back of the trees
Then came into view to make its approach to land
It flew off less than a minute later
I couldn't find anymore visits

11th May
Morning All,
There was a pre-day cam arrival onto the perch. He landed at 4:10 and stayed on there until leaving there at 5:00 (Edit: Scrolling back a few moments prior to him landing, there was movement on, then an unseen flyaway from, the cam post. A couple of distant chips heard before he came into view)
He chipped on landing
A scratch of his head
Day cam on at 4:14
A few random pics during his long visit which was spent, in the most part, just quietly looking around

4:48 Preening

5:00
Cropped pic
Up to the cam post
I can't see anymore visits to the nest since then
7:47 ENS. Someone on the birch?
A possible feather ruffle heard on the cam post, 7:48
Dark Male to the nest, 9:02. Chipping and flapping
There was movement and a flyaway from the cam post prior to him coming into view
Back up to the cam post a minute or so after. He chipped when landing up there
He certainly appears to be defending the nest!
He popped back for a short visit soon after, 9:04, still in a fluster, then went back up to the cam post
Lowes moved/span the cam around at 9:36. It showed the power supply and microphone - gosh I felt dizzy!!
Back to nest view
At present, 10:11, it's ENS. I can't see that there have been anymore visits
I'm out for the rest of the day. Wouldn't it be lovely if NC0 came to visit?! Missing her... BFN
