Three beautiful eggs were laid from mid-April, with the final one arriving almost 10 hours later than NC0’s usual 72 hour 'cycle'.
Both Laddie and NC0 have had to defend the nest from many 'passing through' intruders. Could Laddie’s defence of the reserve be the reason why there has been no sighting of him on the webcam since early lunchtime on the 28th? There were a few occasions where there was a high likelihood that he may have been in NC0’s sight since then though, her loud fish calls alerted us to that probable fact.
With NC0’s last meal being delivered on the 27th, we can only hope that Laddie arrives home not only fit and well, but also with a well-deserved fish for such an amazing female Osprey – her endeavours to keep the eggs protected, warm and dry during his absence, have been truly remarkable!
As I write, it has been just over 60 hours without Laddie at the nest and we now wait, in anticipation, for a positive start to this new month...
*UPDATED 4.5.23: Heartbroken to report, that there was very sadly no positive news forthcoming regarding our dear Laddie...

Nest Updates
Arrival dates: NC0(16) - 8.3.24 (17:52) Laddie (LM12) - 27.3.24 (16:38) RIP Laddie (LM12) - remains found 3.5.24
Eggs laid: Egg #1 - 17.4.24 (10:48) Egg #2 - 20.4.24 (10:53) Egg #3 - 23.4.24 (20:47)
*Two eggs were destroyed on 7.5.24; the third one on 8.5.24, by an unringed, Pale Male Osprey. All were deemed unviable due to being chilled and left for long periods without incubation

Thank you to you too for the pre-lunch time pics, Karen, and to All for posting comments, very much appreciated!
Catlady said:I wonder if she knows the eggs no use?
Quite possibly, Catlady. I think it is probably just instinct at present to incubate?
So glad to see NC0 again after that long absence.
Yes, Glider, and hopefully she'd had something to eat while away from the nest
23:58
Sleep well wherever you are roosting tonight, NC0
.
07 May - the loss of NC0's eggs:
NB - MovieMaker threw a wobbly and shifted the captions, it's taken ages to (hopefully) correct them. Hopefully this is what happened from beginning to end, after a fashion
NC0 returned in the early hours - I'll leave that for our Lowes Leader to portray. G'night!
IMAGICAT
Morning Scylla and All,
Many thanks for your work on the vid!
NC0 arrived on the perch at 4:11
She was on there for less than a couple of minutes before heading to the egg
She was up and back on the perch almost 2 minutes after
NC0 was still there at 5:15 before coming onto the nest
She then headed to the centre - shouting
5:37 Just prior to leaving - she had been in this position standing quietly for around 8 minutes or so
First visit to the nest by the male at 5:58. He had what appeared to be nesting material in his talons
Will continue on the next post
Cont'd...
He flapped/'ran' his way over to the right side of the nest, something gripped in his left talons
6:00 He nest cupped and the egg was back on the edge (I did notice that he stood on the egg prior to this, it did not break)
6:05 He headed up to the cam post
Back down at 6:44
He left after this at 6:52
Back again 6:58ish
Only a 2 minute visit this time
He has been back a couple more times during my scroll back since then BUT, as I went forward to the present to get correct timings, I noticed the cam went offline at 7:59
