April saw Blue LJ2 (18) pair with a new female, Blue 372 (21), with his first mate, Blue LM6 (18) sadly not returning this year. They raised 2 chicks in 2022 and 2023 and had formed a good partnership.
As a 3 year old, this is Blue 372’s first year of breeding. She was translocated to Poole Harbour in 2021 from a Scottish nest. She returned in 2023 and teamed up with Blue 416. They actually intruded at Llyn Brenig then and found themselves a nest elsewhere on private land in Wales. However, this year, Blue 372 chose the Llyn Brenig nest and LJ2 as her mate. Blue 416 did intrude here and try to take Blue 372 back. She stuck to her choice though and Blue LJ2 courted her and they became a couple. A lot of new experiences for Blue 372 this year but she is handling everything well and still doing her own thing ie catching fish if need be!
Do hope they get some P&Q from now on

What a relief to check in this afternoon and see Peace ruling the roost!
It probably shouldn't have, but 432's evening intrusion surprised me - I expect to see nest-seeking Ospreys much earlier in the day.

Yes, it’s lovely to see peace restored here again once more Scylla but like you say, it was in the evening when things kicked off.
Anyway, at the moment we have LJ2 on the nest.He took over from 372 at 14.35.
14.56 372 rode in on her broomstick! 14.57 She started reorganising the nest again.

LJ2 rolls the eggs.
14.59 He settled back down again and 372 flew off.

16.51 Around an hour later LJ2 returned
372 was preening and hadn’t heard him. She was startled when he landed, poor wee soul.
16.53 372 flew off leaving LJ2 to do the incubation.17.38 LJ2 looked up. Sounds like 372 is on the cam pole. She was there a wee while. They had a bit of a conversation.18.06 LJ2 gave a couple of contact chirps then got up and flew off.
18.07 372 flew over to the nest from the right.
18.09 372 took a wee while to settle on the eggs, shifting nesting material, digging about the bottom of the nest cup.
18.13 She didn’t get very long once sat down, as LJ2 appeared 6 minutes after he left, carrying a curl of bark
372 flew off
18.14 LJ2 placed the bark on the nest then began incubation.
19.27 He looks quite content.
Meantime, his other half had been away fishing since LJ2 hadn’t today.

LJ2 was very happy to see her
He collected the fish
and left.
19.50 372 resting. She has done very well today. 24 hours ago, this nest site wasn’t restful.
LJ2 is certainly enjoying the fish 372 caught.

I know Sandra. I’ve not seen anything like it! Wonder if she’ll still do it when the chicks (hopefully) hatch? LM6 used to fish once the chicks were a bit bigger. Yes and it’s a relief to have quietness here today. I was worried in case Blue432 had stayed overnight in the area.
21.11 LJ2 returned to the nest empty taloned.
He’s on incubation duties now.
22.10 An hour later, 372 flew up from the perch to the nest
22.11 LJ2 left
22.12 372 sitting comfortably.
She’s still there at 22.53.
