Brief history: The nest was first occupied by White 08(97) and Green 5N(04) in 2007 who raised 2 chicks. In 2008 they paired again but the nest failed and in 2009 it was unused. In 2010 a new pair, Green 5R(04) and an unringed female nicknamed Mrs 5R, took up residence and over the next four years raised 11 chicks. Green 5R(04) failed to return in 2014 and Mrs 5R paired with a new mate, Blue 28(10) and laid 3 eggs. Blue 33(11) arrived determined to claim this nest and ousted Blue 28(10). Blue 33(11) kicked out the eggs and spent the remainder of the season bonding with Mrs 5R who was then officially named “Maya”. Since 2015, Maya and Blue 33(11) have paired up each year and to date have successfully raised 26 chicks.

Here’s wishing Maya and Blue 33(11) a safe journey home and for another successful season.
LOL no wonder my post took sooooo long to post. The pics are HUGE!! Sorry about that. I had given up them ever actually posting. Clearly that's the reason, but won't be good in the rush of the season!

Some facts:2018 was a record breaking season for Maya and Blue 33(11) setting new records for the earliest return, returning pair, egg, hatching – in fact the lot! – seen on a UK public nest. Here are the stats:
12 Mar: Maya Returned – earliest recorded14 Mar: Blue 33(11) Returned 14 Mar: Reunited – earliest reunited pairing recorded 28 Mar: 1st egg laid (breaking the previous record by 5 days)31 Mar: 2nd Egg laid03 Apr: 3rd Egg laid05 May: Chick #1 hatched06 May: Chick #2 hatched08 May: Chick #3 hatched (sadly later died)
This year, Maya has equalled her 2018 record returning 12 March however 33(11) has broken his returning a day earlier on 13 March and the pair reunited thus we are now seeing new records.
When will the first egg be laid - will they break their own record?
