Brief history: The nest was first occupied by White 08(97) and Green 5N(04) in 2007 who raised 2 chicks. In 2008 they paired again but the nest failed and in 2009 it was unused. In 2010 a new pair, Green 5R(04) and an unringed female nicknamed Mrs 5R, took up residence and over the next four years raised 11 chicks. Green 5R(04) failed to return in 2014 and Mrs 5R paired with a new mate, Blue 28(10) and laid 3 eggs. Blue 33(11) arrived determined to claim this nest and ousted Blue 28(10). Blue 33(11) kicked out the eggs and spent the remainder of the season bonding with Mrs 5R who was then officially named “Maya”. Since 2015, Maya and Blue 33(11) have paired up each year and to date have successfully raised 26 chicks.

Karen said:Both the nest and wide angle cams have sound and if not then a fault.
According to me there's no sound on the Nest cam now. Is it just me?

With NCO's early arrival last evening, the ladder down, nest cleared so all eyes to the skies!
Thanks HilaryJ for the additional info and I'll amend accordingly
How exciting to think Maya and 33 could be only days away!
No, same for me Scylla.
This is when I so miss Mike as he would have picked up the phone knowing who to ask
It won't be the last time he reminds us, Karen
10 March - Daily Nest Activity
Raining at Manton Bay. Checked back and no sign yet of the EGs - I would have thought they would have made a dash for the nest it being cleared?
But the little pied wagtail stopped for a few minutes
I loathe this new layout - just can't follow it. Obviously everyone posts as they wish but I'm toying with the idea of doing one post, dating it and posting my captures of the daily activity within it. I think that is the only way I'm going to be able to follow what's what. Be interesting seeing the other threads develop.
I couldn't agree more, Karen. It's certainly not slick,or easy to navigate. I did wonder on Friday when NC0 arrived at LotL, whether we should get into the habit of including a time at the beginning of a post. '56 minutes ago means absolutely nothing. So 10.39 should be at the beginning of this post!
