Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

I don't understand how best to post now... there was a brief appearance of a firecrest the other day... was going to try but couldn't work out what to do / where to do it... (which is why I'm replying to your comment!) sorry, not good at this technology stuff! wish they wouldn't change things!
Hi JANET - Unless you want to reply to a particular poster, always use the Reply button on the Original Post, the first post in the thread. Then your post will appear independently at the end of all the posts.
As for the Firecrest - we'll have to claim that it was before I started recording, cos otherwise I'll be devastated to have skimmed past it without noticing :)))
IMAGICAT
Birds of Poole Harbour posted this on X/Twitter earlier this morning.
Birds of Poole Harbour just reported on X/Twitter an Osprey was flying over Poole Quay heading towards Holes Bay around 13.30.
it's one of theirs!
Very unlikely Wendy, we get so many Ospreys passing through the Harbour area on migration. I have seen 7 Ospreys sitting in the same couple of trees before, all migrationary. Never say never though
Osprey landed on nest at 0540 for a short time
