Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

The whole family, with one ungrateful chick standing out:
There should be a gif here - it displayed fine until I edited to add the date for the post, since then it won't stick - I've slid it in umpteen times, it disappears after hitting Reply; I've used Insert with the same result. Cleared cache & cookies and re-signed in, no difference.
Can see it when any box is clicked on Scylla!

Ringing is taking place now.
I was wondering if that was the case with both cameras down
Ring numbers are 5R0, 5R1, 5R2 and 5H6 (given to Bob 4). Probably 2 males, 2 females, but not sure which is which yet!
I couldn’t manage a photo with all of the chicks together wearing their new blue shiny bands, but everyone is accounted for over a few photos!
Managed 3 here - CJ7 with 5R0, 5R1 and 5H6
10.06
10.07 5R0 flapping its wings
11.29 5R2 stands up to show us their band and 5H6 sticks its leg out.
18.42 An evening meal from 022
18.51 Four in a row getting fed. From left 5R2, 5H6, 5R0, 5R1.
The feed began with 5H6 and 5R0 then 5R2 joined and lastly 5R1.

Lovely captures Glider, many thanks
It’s now thought they could be four males! Brilliant for the project if so.
