Well, it's now 2024 and hopefully another successful year for the Poole Harbour Ospreys.
The last couple of years have seen the successful establishment of a nest and raising of young.
Translocated females From the harbour have set up successful nests in Wales also raising young.
Hopefully this year may see the establishment of a second nest in the Harbour area.

Here was the family last year
I hope Alison Copland won't mind but here is a link to a video she has made of the 2023 season. It is a must watch for followers of Ospreys, especially the Poole harbour family

Ahh let's hope the sibs are kind and it gets a look in at meal times!

Thank goodness for that, well done CJ7. Welcome to Poole little #4.

Pip's progress - in a nut/eggshell, slow
I'm 2 minutes late with my hatch time.
The little mite is dwarfed by its siblings, if only our support could make a difference
Noon feed - the little one was up and trying.

Gosh, it is so tiny and the first two chicks are very strong. Hopefully there’ll be plenty of fish to keep everybody happy.

Supper - 022 offered #4 a couple of bites but they missed... then CJ7 offered a far-too-big bite, but that fell off #4's beak. Then it got buried under its well-fed siblings:
Awww.... I've read on here somewhere that you can survive for a day or two on the egg nourishment but then No.4 you will need to try harder or these big sibs will push you out you hear!
Bob #4 got a good feed mid afternoon. It just had to be patient until all the others were fed first and lay down.
022 flew in with a whole fish. There was already a half fish lying on the nest.

CJ7 took the new fish from 022

You can see the change in #1’s feathers. It has a dark head now.
Dual feeding earlier. 022 (left) with the 2 youngest and CJ7 with the older 2.
#2’s head is now darkening. #1 is darkening all over.

022 is very patient with #4
16.20 #4 managed to swallow a large piece here.

It's great that both parents are feeding their family, lovely to see! Thanks Glider
Thanks for coverage, GLIDER - I've just been thru a 6-hour stretch from the 2nd and can confirm that #4 got fed by Dad as well as Mum, but oh dear, at times the frustration is more than this spectator can bear
