This thread is for Osprey nests that don't warrant a thread of their own, and for other raptor nests of interest, in an effort to keep Osprey threads to a minimum for the sake of other Community members.

Hancock Forum for very close coverage of the nest.
From KORKY's introductory post for the 23-24 SWFL season:
"This is the first season with M15 & new mate F23. F23 was first documented in the area Summer 2023 before officially bonding with M in October 2023. The original adult bald eagle pair, known as Ozzie and Harriet, had been coming to this nest since 2006. After Ozzie’s passing in the early fall of 2015, Harriet & M15 bonded in late fall of 2015. After eighth seasons as a mated pair, Harriet never returned to the nest in Feb. 2023 and M successfully raised their young E21 & E22 to fledge.' F23 has just laid her first egg dickpritchettrealestate.com/.../

F23 has 2 eggs and one appears to be about to hatch!... So I'm starting the new thread a couple of days early. I don't know who is currently incubating.
IMAGICAT
Typical! I just stopped the Kielder7 download so's to run thru the footage, then checked the live stream in case anything special transpired while that footage was processing - and something did so I had to record it from rollback - quicker than going thru the day's hours on the off-chance.
Then I see I haven't done yesterday's download :(((
20 April
A passing raptor caused concern - please ID it and I'm not even certain it was KX7 and not her hubby on the nest.

Super headless breakfish this morning but it got taken away:
Sorry Scylla, I’m not that good at other raptors’ ID. At least it wasn’t interested in the nest.
Managed to stop on an image which looked possibly like a Buzzard! Been trying to get a pic but it's so fast!
Managed this ...

Good effort Wendy. Yes, it could be a buzzard. It does have wide wings and what looks like brown and white colouring.

Yes, thank you! I thought Buzzard possibly.
21/22 April - Kielder7
No problems detected so far.
Enjoying the soft stuff he brought in:
23 April
Early this morning KM18 brought in a small stick at changeover time:
Love the sheep Scylla ... what variety are they?
Kielder7
This nest is very well endowed with soft stuff - it's been piled up blocking our view but they kindly shifted most of it away... altho I'm not quite up-to-date yet...
The above snaps just slid in without being reduced in size, so I'm posting now to see what happens to them - it would be great if we don't have to stretch any more.
25 April evening
Spanish Cliff Ospreys appear to have only one egg still! (Grabbed from rollback.) Hopefully, after the turmoiled start to their season, they'll be raising a spoilt little brat soon
WendyBartter said:Edit ... found it and see on chat 2 huevos ... eggs!
They must have lost one! Didn't get a pic, info was on chat!
