Weekly Chat, Sunday December 19, 2010

Hallo all. Hasn't stopped raining here all day - two more days of it - BUT the weather in the UK has been making headlines on the radio and telly!  Will catch up with chat later.

  • patriciat thank you so very much.

This weather has a lot to answer for, so many families that may not be able to get  together at this special time.

Happy Christmas and New Year to you both.

  • margobird - more hugs from me! I couldn't get you out of my thoughts yesterday and this morning. I hope that your sister makes good progress, and that you get to see her soon. I'm like you with regards to walking on the ice and snow ... absolute nightmare.

  • Good afternoon DjoanS and I sit here in tears at the kindness shown to me at this terrible time.  The card is beautiful and I really appreciate the hugs.

  • I have been looking in to check on Margo's news. It is an extremely worrying and heart wrenching  time for you Margo. I am remembering your sister, yourself and all the family in my thoughts and prayers. As you know I am not at home, but I will keep looking for your news. Please look after yourself, which is not always easy to do at such times as these. Hugs.

  • Afternoon all ... a beautiful sunny day here , but we had another inch of snow overnight :-( OH was supposed to be working today, but he decided against it, so we went out instead ... he has a 4 wheel drive car, so it is easier for him! The roads, shops etc were all very quiet, unlike a normal Christmas Eve.

Linda - wonderful Osprey Twelve Days ... thank you!

ChrisyB - lovely photos ... thanks. Safe journey to your mother's.

OG - glad to hear that your son got his car and managed to sort things at the Job Centre. I hope he has a safe journey down to you, and I'm sure he will enjoy his stay! What a lovely present to give your cleaner ... I'm sure she was thrilled.

Alan - glad to hear Hamish is wearing his coat ... looking forward to a photo! Great card from EJ :-))

Thanks to everyone else for chat etc.

    Take care and stay safe.

  • Hello to ALL. Main roads weren't bad, just had to be careful on any side roads, but we arrived safely at OH's sister, where her son's and wives and our daughter will hopefully arrive tonight. Daughter's boyfriend is on night duty for the whole weekend !

I wanted to wish you ALL, A VERY HAPPY AND PEACEFUL CRISTMAS. Do enjoy yourselves.

  • Thanks, Brenda.

I was just digesting margo's post about the news on her sister, when our doorbell rang with unexpected visitors, so I have only just come back to read the above.  I'm sorry its been such a difficult time for you, margo, and we are all thinking about you.  At least your sister is in the best place, as they say. It will be a difficult Christmas for you, and your birthday will probably be forgotten in the middle of things, but I know that your wonderful OH will be a rock, and look after you.  <HUGS>  xx

  • Djoan - what a lovely card you made for margo - its beautiful.

patriciat:   I was also inspired to make a Christmas card with the Hallmark software (you would think I had nothing better to do, today!) but although I managed to send it by email to our son, cannnot post it here as I have no idea about 'cut & paste' methods!

  • Brenda H good to know you have arrived safe and sound and hopefully the rest of the family will arrive later today.  My very best wishes to you and your family.

  • Here is the best I can manage without fancy computer methods:

(a photo from last years snowy scene, but it looks much the same now)

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS, AND A PEACEFUL NEW YEAR.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL COMPANY, ALL YEAR.
