Link to July 2023 thread
July proved to be a less nail-biting month than June. Brodie re-appeared early on the 1st and delivered fish (including flounder) to the nest every day bar 1 thereafter, with a record count of 7 on the 21st. Asha also fished and delivered a salmon on the 3rd, as well as quite a few sticks, not least one to replace the sticky-up stick on the nest that got removed on ringing day - 12th July. We have 2 boys, as only 7% of those surveyed had predicted. 2C5 (oldest) became Sid (Vicious) and 2C4 (youngest) is Harry (Nilsson). We had some cracking snaps particularly from the PTZ camera, a 2am fish, self-feeding started, and wing-flapping and helicoptering. Bets are on for a fledge or two very early in August. Sid is 58 days and Harry 56 days on the 1st of August

Can also go back/forward 5 secs by using the left/right arrows at the bottom of the keyboard! Not sure what the up/down arrows would do.
JillR's YouTube video navigation keyboard hotkeys
J = back 10 secs
K = toggle pause/play
L = fwd 10 secs
Bottom right corner - arrow keys:
Right arrow = fwd 5 secs
Left arrow = back 5 secs
Up arrow = volume up
Down arrow = volume down
Thank you, Jill !!!
Me neither Trevor/Scylla. People talk of scrolling back to a time - How in the world do I do that . No clock on the screen ! and counting the hours and minutes on the red line, well. just forget it !
So, thank you very much indeed Jill , I shall look forward to trying all those letters and arrows.
Another season over on our famous nest, with all its ups and downs, has kept us watching. Asha and Brodie have raised two handsome chicks. I wish them all well, and I hope Asha and Brodie have a safe migration and get lots of rest and return safely to us next year. In a few years we hopefully may see the young ones make an appearance, not only the 2023 chicks but any of EJ's generation's. Great coverage from all, many thanks. Loch Garten is my favourite nest, probably as it is my nearest (3 hours south) and the only centre I have been to. Have been twice, and saw our beloved EJ. Being so far north, it is many miles and hours to be able to go to others, one day maybe! It is always sad to see them leave but the next 6 months will fly, (no pun intended) and they will be back with us again. Who will win Asha over, Brodie, KL5, Axel or other, we will see.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
