  • 10.02 Harry arrives with another fish, a bit bigger than the last.

    Flora takes it

10.03 She flies off with the fish and returns to the nest.

The chicks scramble to take the fish off Flora, she manages to hold on and starts feeding.

One chick has a scrap with another and nearly pushes it off the nest

Not much of the fish has been shared when another chick makes a grab and wins the fish off Flora

    10.07 Fish lost, Flora leaves.

The chick in the centre has done well for itself.

Hope there will be more soon for the other two.

  • Little flying trips across the nest from #2 and #3

First the chick at the back

holding onto a piece of nesting material

Then the chick at the front

  • 12.55 A good sized fish delivered by Harry

    The chicks scramble for it

The chick at the front has it but not for long, the chick behind starts attacking with its beak, biting its sibling

The chick with the fish manages to hold on but the other chick makes a counter attack from behind

and pulls the fish with its talons, managing to secure it.

From their behaviours, I’d say #1 got the fish first. #2 attacked it and took the fish.
#1 left the nest at 14.09

14.39 Current scene on the nest, #2 still eating. #3 still starving.

If only Flora would arrive with a fish for #3 now Pray

  • Harry arrived with a flatfish

I don’t know which chick took it. I hope it was #3

    Someone practising their flying jumps.

As the chick was tackling the skin/fish tail, another came over and took it.

The chick to the right with the fish tail.

I wonder where Flora is?  Not seen her since mid morning.

  • 19.38 Harry again with a delivery, a small fish.

The chick in the middle got the fish. The chick to the left got Harry’s foot!

20.25 Once the chick had got to the tail end of the fish, another chick approached asking for fish. The first chick (right) let it drop and allow the other chick to take it.

This was a tricky piece to eat, mostly straggly skin.

    20.54 Finally got it swallowed.

It was #1 chick who got the tail end as it flew off once finished.

  • #1 came back to the nest at 21.32 and chose to snuggle in with its siblings. 21.44

22.57 All 3 together. It’s now raining. Still no sign of Flora.

  • Everything crossed that Flora makes an early appearance at the nest in the morning, Glider... Fingers crossed
  • Thursday 13 July

Thanks Sandra, I was really hoping so. On scrollback I haven’t seen her yet. No fish from Harry so far either which is very late for him. All chicks are waiting on the nest and it has just started raining. 09.43

  • I was too quick on my scrollback this morning - Harry delivered a tiny fish at 07.34. Looked like #3 who got it.

    #1 then landed

    #3 defended its fish

  • 10.12 Harry arrives with a flatfish

One chick made a beeline for the fish and got it

Only for it to have it snatched from behind by another chick
