Our 3 thriving chicks almost adult sized with Harry and Flora. As of 01/07/23 the chicks are 42, 40 and 38 days old.

#3 decides to spend the night alone on the nest.
Monday 24 July
04.14 #3 still sleeping
A bird is singing nearby. #3 opens his eyes for a few seconds
04.18 The cam switching over from night mode to day
04.22 An Osprey is heard calling in the distance. #3’s eyes open again
A big wing stretch and a calling response (to his sibling)
more calling and sitting up
having a yawn
04.23 Incoming Osprey calling, #3 responding loudly whilst getting up
#3 greets his sibling with wing flapping and continuous calling. It’s #1
#1 looks the whitest of the three, with the paler chest and whitest head markings.
04.28 #2 then arrives to complete the trio
04.29 They are all calling loudly. #2 has the heaviest necklace.
08.46 There have been comings and goings all morning, mostly by #1. All three there currently, still waiting on the first fish delivery.
#1 on the perch.
10.48 Harry was late with his first delivery, another flatfish. He must’ve found a good source for these.
Look at those 3 hungry beaks shouting for fish!
#2 was in the best position to take the fishand mantled over it
13.34 Harry brings another flatfish, #1 (left) and #3 are on the nest
As Harry is about to land, #2 comes flying in like a rocket
Wings are everywhereHarry breaks free with tail upand leaves #1 had managed to get the fish and takes a wee flight over to the back of the nest with it.#3 gets too close, #1 flaps him and #2 away and mantles over the fish.
Oh my goodness, this hasn’t finished. #2 still wanted that fish (although having eaten a flatfish earlier)
13.36. #2 right, makes a grab for the fish with her talons
#1 is still holding on
They are both pulling stronglyEventually #1 breaks free with the fish (after 4 minutes)
After eating for a few minutes, #1 flies off with the fish.
15.28 Another flatfish from Harry
#3 left, #2 right. #2 was shouldering #3 away so she was in a better position
It worked, #2 got the fish.#2 mantles over the fish#1 arrives, too late
Harry flies off.
#2 succeeded in keeping the fish
A small fish delivery from Harry again. No sign of Flora today so far.
15.49. #2 was still eating the previous fish.
#1 (back) and #3 both went for it. Luckily for #3, #1 had grabbed Harry’s leg
#3 came away with the fish, #1 still pulling Harry’s leg
#3 with his first fish today
15.59 #3 finished his wee fish, swallowing the tail. #2 is still eating hers.
All quiet at the moment. #3 snoozing on the nest.
