  • 12.11 Second fish comes in from Flora. #3 is on the nest alone so it’s good to see it getting this fish.

12.13 #2 arrives back on the nest

#3 stays strong and defends its fish

And finishes off the tail at 12.25

  • Fish #3 comes from Harry.

    Flora follows Harry on

A scramble for the fish or more like a rugby scrum!

13.40 #3 to the front as #1 and #2 tussle

Someone has won the fish. Flora leaves

I can’t really tell who has the fish

    But they enjoyed it all.

  • 16.01 Two chicks are on the nest. Flora arrives just before Harry with a fish.

The third chick arrives, looks like #1, but it is too late.

Flora quickly grabbed the fish and flew off with it in her talons.

  • 16.06 Flora returns with the fish.

The usual scramble to take it.

The fish is won by the chick on the left.

A snatch from behind and another chick takes the fish

There has been concern on the live chat about the chick to the right. It has been somewhat lethargic for periods today. It’s believed it is chick #2 which is really out of character for it.

  • Oh I hope it's nothing to worry about, Glider...
  • Thankfully I don’t think it’s come to anything Sandra. Maybe just tired and hungry and struggling with the wind.

It looked alright later on when it was on #3’s back attacking it because #3 had pecked it when #2 pushed against it (nothing much really) I think #3 is trying to toughen up but #2 will always be bigger and more aggressive (likely female, #3 likely male)

20.45 Thankfully when #3 was pinned down. Flora arrived on the nest then Harry with a fish. This got #2 off #3’s back

    Flora got the fish

and immediately flew off with it.

I don’t know why Flora’s started doing this?

    She returned at 20.59

I think #2 got the fish or what was left of it.

  • Thanks Glider. I watched the attack, very nasty. I thought PF4 at Lowes was bad enough but that was something else!
  • Monday 17 July

04.57 Flora arrived early with a fish. Only #2 and #3 on the nest.

#3 (left) was in prime position to take the fish but thought better of it after the brutal attack from #2 last night and withdrew.  #3 immediately calls to Flora for more fish.

    #2 mantling over the fish.

    04.58 Flora left

  • #3 on the nest alone. It starts calling. Flora arrives and is straight into intruder mantling and chipping. 09.14

09.15 A bird is seen flying past the nest

    Another fly past

    09.24 Flora leaves

  • #3 still alone on the nest when Flora flies in with another fish, a headless flatfish.

#3 is beyond happy, squealing with excitement as the fish is immediately taken.

#3 spent more time calling that (he) had a fish that eating. Flora flew off. 09.55

Eventually #3 settled down to eat the fish, taking it to the centre of the nest.

10.50. #3 currently still eating the fish. The two older ospreys are on the nest now and calling.
