Egg No. 3 laid 26 April - Hatched 1 June (37 days) Sadly, this little chick died on 3rd June. It coincided with LJ2 having a leg injury and unable to fish at the time. I don’t know if this was the sole reason, part of the reason or something else. RIP little one

12.24 Dilys returns to eat the left over fish.
12.24 LJ2 arrives with a half fish
Dilys drops one half fish in favour of another!

She managed.
18.02 LM6 took the fish away.
18.25. LM6 brought the fish, (which was now smaller!) back to the nest. Mari was waiting to receive it.
18.26 Mari starts eating
I think Dilys appreciates all the soft bedding that her parents have provided as she settled down for another night on the nest.
An adult is watching over her from the perch.
Friday 28 July
Good morning This is a lovely observation from one of the volunteers on the day of fledging.

08.59 LM6 drops down onto the nest with a fish, encouraged by one of the juveniles.
09.01 Joined by the other juvenile LM6 decides feed the youngsters rather than pass the fish over.
09.06 LJ2 floats down with a small stick
It’s a busy nest there!LJ2 left the nest and LM6 carried on feeding
09.29 Mari left

09.34 Then Dilys left
LM6 ate a little more
09.53 LM6 then stepped off the fish and flew away.11.01 LJ2 took the fish off the nest just over an hour later.
12.32 LM6 arrives chipping and mantling on the nest
Skydancing is heard 12.32 LM6 flies off
14.12 Dilys flies onto the nest as she sees LJ2 on his way
He arrives with a half eaten fish which Dilys is happy to take.The skin was a bit crispy looking so it was probably the remainder of the fish from earlier.She had a good feed and left at 14.55
15.02 and Mari arrived to take over where her sister had left off and took hold of the fish.
