Egg No. 2 laid 23 April - Hatched 29 May (36 days)
Egg No. 3 laid 26 April - Hatched 1 June (37 days) Sadly, this little chick died on 3rd June. It coincided with LJ2 having a leg injury and unable to fish at the time. I don’t know if this was the sole reason, part of the reason or something else. RIP little one
The family of 5 for a couple of days. Bob 3, RIP, in between #1 and #2

Sandra P said:Super opening and reports, Glider - thank you!
Just noticed your message, thanks Sandra.
Janni said:Brilliant video, thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome Janni. It was a good video. I found it funny that the fish was dancing below LJ2’s feet and he didn’t notice it and it took LM6 to come from the nest to catch it!
15.12 LM6 arrives on the nest and in straight into defence mode, chipping and flapping.
Something’s up there
LM6 stopped after 5 or 6 minutes. I didn’t see anything.
Around 17.00 LJ2 arrives on the nest. LM6 tells him to go fishing
He listened and returned just over an hour later, 18.12 with a whole pike.
LM6 fed the chicks straight away.
The fish was quickly eaten with LM6 giving a chick the tail at 18.26. (You can just see the chick’s beak grabbing the tail)
19.43 LJ2 arrives with another live fish.
The chicks are calling loudly as LM6 collects the fish.
LM6 obscures our view of the feed
Both chicks seemed to be fed.
The feed finished around 20.00.
20.20 A peaceful scene.
LJ2 spends 20+ minutes on the preening perch
before joining his family on the nest perch at 22.25.
