Mari mantles as Dilys comes towards her.

    Dilys closely watches Mari

15.55 Mari secures her grip on the fish

and for the first time, she takes it off the nest. This bird is a really quick learner!

Mari landed in the middle of here.

  • Dilys didn’t have to wait too long to get a fish of her own.

16.17 LJ2 landed with a fine headless fish.

    16.24

    16.46

Dilys leaves the fish on the nest at 17.15

17.53 Mari  (I think, as I can’t read the darvic ring) lands on the nest and grasps the fish.

She flew over the nest with the fish

Then took it away to the trees beyond.

  • 18.57 Mari returns to the nest

19.11 Dilys is on the nest as well.

19.20 LJ2 arrives with a half eaten fish.

Mari was over first to take the fish

19.21. Dilys waits as Mari eats.

20.18 An hour later Mari is satisfied and leaves the nest.

20.21 Dilys goes over to start her feed.

    20.43

    20.54 She’s finishing off now

20.56 Dilys shakes off the skin that’s left

She lands in front of the nest

  • 21.03 Dilys returns to the fish skin she’d left on the nest.

    21.09

21.15 She’s eaten what she can and cleans her beak

21.19 Just about to lie down

21.19 Dilys ends up lying on the piece of fish skin as she settles for the night.

21.27 There are at least 2 birds on the nest perch.

  • Some pics from the PTZ cam that found an eating perch the birds use.

    16.15 LJ2

    17.07 LM6

The cam has been left in this position overnight so I can’t check to see if anyone is on the preening perch tonight.
