  • Dilys and Mari were both up early doing some wingercising.

    04.41

    04.42

    04.43

04.46 Time for a rest again. These two like to do everything together.

    05.07 LM6 arrives with a stick.

05.08 She places her stick and tidies others at the edge of the nest.

05.10 LM6 then rests with the two youngsters for a short while.

    05.24 Off she goes

05.53 Mari is up doing more wingercising. She does a little lift off from the nest.

    then lands on Dilys

    who gets up quickly.

  • 07.16 LM6 brings in more nesting material.

    07.18 The three females together.

07.27 LM6 leaves and returns again with another stick.

07.53 then more moss arrives. She’s on a mission this morning!

  • 08.37 LM6 continues to furnish the nest. More soft bedding arrives.

    09.07 and more

LM6 then sorts the sticks out again.

  • 09.50 LM6 arrived on the nest as LJ2 was incoming with a fish.

The chicks got to the fish first.

10.03 They shared it at first until Mari was enjoying possession of the fish. Dilys stood up and pushed/flapped Mari off the fish.

The bigger sister then enjoyed her own time to eat the fish.

10.37 When Dilys had had enough, Mari moved in and got another feed.

Mari ate until LM6 was eventually able to collect the fish at 11.09

She initially fed Mari then Dilys joined too.

LM6 ate more after the chicks had had their fill.

12.23 LM6 picking up fallen scraps.

  • The chicks did some flying practice in the afternoon.

13.17 Dilys getting just a bit higher off the nest than Mari.

    13.43

LM6 and LJ2 enjoying some quiet time together on the preening perch. 13.33

Preening time for the chicks 14.02

    and resting time. 14.36

14.55 Both parents glide in for a visit.

    LM6 arrives first

  • 15.42 LJ2 arrives with a fish.

LM6 joins him on the nest.

    She takes the fish.

It looks like one of the chicks took the fish from LM6. A bit difficult to see with LJ2 blocking the view.

The chick to the left has the fish.

And it’s Dilys eating the fish. 16.17

  • LM6 waits until Dilys leaves the fish before taking it.

    16.47

16.50 Mari is keen to get a feed.

16.53 Dilys goes for a feed too.

    17.40 LM6 finishes off

    then she leaves. 17.41

  • 19.06 Watched by the girls, LJ2 brings in a small piece of bark.

He then shifts a larger piece to a new position.

    19.33 LM6 arrives

    20.10 LJ2 arrives with a fish which LM6 takes.

Both chicks enjoy a good feed.

LM6 gets a feed to herself now.

21.06 LM6 still eating and the rain is falling quite heavily.

  • Wednesday 19 July

Good morning Grinning Looks like both adults slept on the nest perch last night. (Magnified)

    Some morning snaps. 04.54

LM6 came to the nest. She was fish calling.  05.47

    LJ2 was close by.  05.48

    Hello Mari 07.02

    Some wingercising by both chicks

Mari having a good look below.  07.15

    Resting. 07.52

    Preening. 08.12

    LM6 arrives fish calling. 08.23

and LJ2 flies in with a headless fish 08.23

    LM6 collects

then Mari (as usual!) takes it

    08.50 Mari still tucking in.

  • Mari was left alone to eat until she had had enough. When she stepped off the fish, LM6 came over to collect it. 09.21

Dilys came over for a feed. 09.22

    Dilys walked away at 09.34

09.57 LM6 continued eating but stopped when she saw/heard something. She looked around in all directions then left the nest alarm calling.

09.59 It must’ve been a false alarm as LJ2 was soon at the nest taking the piece of fish left.

10.08 LM6 returned and landed at the spot where she’d left her fish but of course it was gone!

A certain male Osprey (magnified) was munching into it on a tree post.
