Laddie had a record breaking fish day on the 15th June, when he brought ELEVEN of them to the nest for NC0 and the chicks to dine on - amazing!
As the two chicks grew, it was clearly obvious - with the difference in size - that #1 was a female and #2 a male, this being confirmed at their ringing on the 22nd June.
NC0 began fishing for the first time this season on the 30th June, with TWO successful catches in one day. Hopefully, both she and Laddie will continue to bring plenty of fish for their growing youngsters to enjoy in a now, harmonious manner.

Unknown said:And NCO eating as well, 3 happy birds
Just before NC0 found some chunks of fish to eat, she arrived on the nest, from the birch, at 19:17 and made an attempt to steal PF4's fish
The youngster warned her off
NC0 tried again, PF4's warning was more severe this time
As NC0 turned, PF5 decided that he didn't want his mum to get his fish either
NC0 found some sizable chunks of left over fish soon after. PF5 wasn't too pleased that she had got close to his
He almost slipped off the edge of the nest
PF5 asking to be fed?
NC0 tucking in to another piece
All three eating

Unknown said:Just watched the 1833 fish delivery and then PF4 landing and trying to grab the fish. Our young lad has certainly matured in the last couple of weeks, he was giving as good as he got, in fact he was really dishing it out to his sister.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
He really has come into his own now which is really great to see! When PF4 retreated once PF5 won the battle to keep hold of his fish, maybe she realised he's no pushover after all!
Unknown said:A couple of minutes before the 11.13am fish arrival both young were on the nest. PF4 was on the perch when PF5 jumped him knocking both off the nest. Good to see a bit of counterpunching from the youngest.
Hi Michael, many thanks for that! I wonder why PF5 decided to do it in the first place?
Down they went
At 19:36, PF4 had finished her fish - about to swallow the fish tail here
20:11 Another fish from Laddie, headless. NC0 ensured it was going to be her one!
PF5 had just stepped aside from his fish and began to fish call just as NC0 was
PF5 received a feed from NC0
When that fish was all gone, NC0 collected the remainder of PF5's earlier fish and proceeded to feed him from that too - what a bird she is!
PF5 received some more bites at the back of the nest
Then, once he'd walked away, NC0 began eating for herself at 20:32

Osprey Translocations: To move or not to move?
NC0 left the nest and headed to the birch at 22:24
22:50 A night all alone on the nest for PF5
I hope the rain subsides.
Morning All,
There was a good-sized headless fish delivery from Laddie at 7:38. NC0 had joined PF4 and PF5 on the nest a few seconds before - PF4 thought she had a fish at first and grabbed hold of her talons
All three of them went to take the fish
PF5 had his talons on the fish and dragged it slightly
He then stood on it. Great, I thought...
Laddie flew off
Strangely, PF5 walked away from the fish. NC0 left it alone and PF4 stood looking at it...
Not for long though as she decided she would have it
PF4 began to eat, NC0 and PF5 called for fish!
At present, 8:36, PF4 is still eating her meal at the back of the nest
