Continued from Manton Bay - June 2023

The season so far: Blue 33(11) returned March 16 @ 12:58 and Maya on March 19 @ 06:54. Maya has laid four eggs - Apr 4 @ 15:52, April 7 @ 09:04, April 10 @ 07:03 and April 13 @ 08:08. 38 days later on May 12 @ 08:18 the first chick hatched followed by chick #2 on May 14 @ 06:36 and chick #3 was first seen @ 05:45 on May 17. Chick #4 hatched on May 18 @ 18:53 and not long after a live fish was delivered to the nest causing havoc and the little chick died the following morning. On June 24, the chicks were ringed – Blue 3H3(F), Blue 3H4(M) and Blue 3H5(F).

Over the next few days we will see the chicks flapping, strengthening their wings ready to take that great leap of faith and fledge.

Short fight between sisters this morning.33 brought yesterday's fish to the nest, where 3H3 and 3H5 have been waiting all morning for breakfish.3H5 takes the fish from her father, then 3H3 tries to take it.. and 3H5 takes a few pecks at her sister.. keeping the fish

3 fish and a family picture. 33 has been outstanding again today.
They were like this everytime 33 or Maya brought a piece of grass or a stick
And finally 3H4 gets some fish too. he didn't have any up to now (unless he got a piece of the fish 3H3 took) and it was a lively fish too, which he got under control pretty fast

This nest just keeps rolling along nicely. You know 33 will always deliver Three very healthy looking juvies.

Afternoon all, quick catch up
05:33 33 approaches with a fish - 3H5 waiting on the nest with one following 33
33 flies off and 3H5 tucks in
05:55 all three now on the nest - so well behaved waiting their turn
but 3h5 is not for sharing - after having had her fill, she flies off with the fish
no more deliveries
11:23 I would guess this is 3H4 - so like dad lol
13:37 still waiting and Maya is on the nest too
13:48 33 arrives with a small fish / piece that is quickly taken by 3H4

Maya has a few bites
then easily surrenders the fish to 3H3. Maya flies off as 3H5 arrives

33 is providing loads of fish so at some point all the family is being fed.
