08.49 Fish #5 looks like a small brown trout

Again, Flora is in like a rocket to get to the fish first and mantles to protect it.

The chick at the back had caught its leg in the plastic. It has a black band around its left ankle.

The first 2 chicks, left and centre fed well then the 3rd chick managed to access the feed.

It’s very tricky trying to backtrack to see when the chick got its leg tangled in the black plastic. I found an image of it there at 07.52.37, I don’t know when it was caught prior to this. It is a worry.

Flora had the chicks pancaking at 11.04. I think it was because the farmer is spraying his fields.

Poor chicks have been lying there for ages! One needed a wing stretch.

Another then decided it was time to sit up.

16.06 Fish delivery, looks like a pike. Oh my goodness, the noise on this nest when a fish is delivered! 

Flora takes charge of the feed.

It was a medium sized fish but didn’t last long (13 mins) with these large chicks all hungry. A squabble broke out between two.

I’m assuming #2 pecked at #1 first then #1 retaliated. It seems #1 is the bird with the plastic band on its ankle.

Whilst this was going on, Flora had been screaming for more fish.
