                        LM6                   LJ2

So far so good! The first 2 chicks are doing well, the 3rd just hatched this morning.

  • 10.00 looks like it is brightening up a bit.

10.43 LJ2 arrives with a headless fish. He’s had his breakfast first.

One chick gets most of the early feed then withdraws

The other chick continues before withdrawing a short while later.

LM6 finishes off eating and flies off at 11.07

She joins LJ2 on the preening perch.

    LM6 has a paddle

I see only one pic of the ringing and can't see much detail, wonder if they'll release a video!

  • Around 12.00 LM6 gave the chicks another feed off the end of the fish.

It’s been pretty blustery on the nest today.

Hi Wendy, the video of LM6 having a paddle is on the video on the left of the page showing LJ2 on the perch.

The chicks haven’t been ringed yet, waiting for better weather.

  • 15.00 LM6 doing her best to shelter the chicks from the elements.

  • 16.36 LJ2 arrives with a heavy looking fish

He dragged it across the nest and started the chicks’ feed

16.49 LJ2 let go of the fish and LM6 was able to take it to continue the feed.

Both chicks retired when they had had enough.

  • **The chicks haven’t been ringed yet, waiting for better weather**

Sorry about that Glider, must have been redirected to the wrong page which clearly showed two youngsters on the ground being ringed ... can't find it now!

  • It’s pretty much impossible to make anything out on the nest with the rain blobs on the camera.

This is around 18.00 and it looks like LM6 is feeding at least one chick some of the leftover fish.

  • 18.50 LJ2 brings in a stick.

    20.00 LJ2 brings in a fish.

It looks like a headless one

It’s another feed from dad. (Right)

20.35 LM6 takes the fish to continue with the feed.

The weather has just been horrible. Hope it’s better tomorrow.

22.13 This is actually a photo of LM6 standing to the left with the 2 chicks lying down in the centre of the nest.

No worries Wendy  - it must’ve been last year’s chicks, perhaps talking about ringing happening soon this year
