Asha is the proud parent of 3 eggs, the father of which being dubious but probably URM - now called Brodie - as we hardly saw NN2 (for whom we wish all the best elsewhere) be accepted by Asha. Brodie had a lot of trouble fending off intruders which has made him a bit flaky in the fish catching and delivery department. Poor old Asha didn't eat for over 2 days last week. The main intruder was KL5, who seems to have stopped hanging around so much now, which is good as we approach hatch date and the need for fish will ramp up.
A scylla-super-snap of the happy parents-to-be
Also, courtesy of scylla, here are the laying dates;
25 April - egg 1
28 April - egg 2
01 May - egg 3
KL5 on nest since 15.14 it seems. Still stood standing.

“I am on this stinking nest all day, laying eggs and then hatching them, building and cleaning up around here, and all I want is to be able to feed my family, and this is what I get! An ex-boyfriend visiting without fish, while my good-for-nothin husband is doing whatever somewhere else! And he’s actually f*&@ing standing on my furniture! I’m sick of this crap…” Oops, KL5 just took off, having satisfied his curiosity. Or maybe he’ll try bringing a fish…
Wow just tuned in to find KL5 is back, or was back for a good amount of time, too. Canuck reports him at 16.46 16.36 (correction). She eventually tried to flap him off and he returned to try to mate, after which he stood regarding her like, “What’s the matter, your guy isn’t around, and I’m sooooo available and handsome.”
Thank you CC. Continuing from your last post:
15.14.47 KL5 tried to land on Asha while she was feeding the chicks. She wanted to finish feeding them before sorting him out. He stood on the rim, watching, much as he used to before last year's chicks fledged.
15.34 KL5 tries to balance on Asha's licheny stick which kept moving under him. Volume increases, but she continues eating in between yelling. She does't flap at him at all.
15.35 Asha tells him to leave, but doesn't mantle – and he does! I wonder what she was telling him – Go and fish. He did leave quite rapidly. I wonder whether Brodie was around
15.56 She is really down to the tough skin now. Osplets are still interested but she doesn't stop to feed them. She yanks at the skin, stretching it until a piece comes off.
16.04 She is still trying to get something off the piece. PTZ is giving us some excellent close ups of her as she twists and turns her head and pulls hard on the skin.
16.29 She is still pulling at it!
16.34 Asha is intruder calling, but doesn't mantle.
16.35 PTZ goes in search and finds him on the top branch of the arch/fallen tree.
16.37 KL5 flies to the nest. Asha yells and yells but continues to feed the osplets and herself.
16.40 Asha continues to feed the osplets from this apparently bottomless left over, yelling occasionally at KL5. He meanwhile just stands watching the scene.
16.37 He flies to the nest. Asha yells and yells but continues to feed the osplets and herself.
16.45 Still yelling at him, Asha move sticks. One antler like stick and approaches KL5. He movesout of the way. He stands on the licheny stick, which is wobbly and she picks up the other end and swings it round. He gets off
16.46-7 He makes two attempts to mate and she finally sees him off
16.48 He flies off.
17.00 Did I hear sky dancing, briefly. Asha started to call. KL5 must be back
17.01 KL5 has returned to the nest. Asha is food soliciting now.
17.04 Asha doesn't mantle nor flap. KL5 leaves of his own accord!
Just a reminder how confident KL5 is. He landed on the nest at the end of the season last year, for one final look around. Almost as though he is implanting it.

Clearly he is very much at home.
