Her wing clipped Harry as she flew off.
06.40 Early fish for Flora today, a good sized headless one.
She took a different flight path off the nest with her fish. She went up and away to the left.
Then she turned around and did a fly past the nest.
Enjoy your fish Flora!
A mixed bag with the weather today. A soggy Flora.
Harry has been helping with the incubation.
Flora is asking for another fish. And again
Flora brings a stick to the nest.
She walks over with it to place in front of Harry.
When Harry gets up, Flora is keen to get back onto the eggs.
I don’t think there’s been another fish delivery today. Flora’s been asking.
21.10 Still asking now but the light is fading.
21.24 Yes, Harry has answered Flora’s calls and delivered a small headless fish.
Flora takes the fish in her talons this time.
21.33 Two gulps and it was gone!! Flora is back at the nest in 8 minutes. That was a very small fish end.
Flora encourages Harry to get off the eggs.
She settles down very quickly. That’ll be her for the night now.
07.27 It’s a misty morning. Flora shouts to Harry that she’s still hungry.
Harry arrives at the nest with his following entourage.
Flora leaves
She returns under a minute later
leaves again then returns 07.41.41, resuming incubation within couple of minutes, sending Harry for fish.
Flora prepares for an incoming fish delivery
It’s a very small headless one.
Flora grabs it with her beak
then transfers to her talons. When she flies upwards, she is momentarily entangled with something.
Just for a split second then she breaks free and flies upwards and away.
16.38 That’s more like it Harry, a really good sized headless fish this time for Flora.
18.06 Flora returned with a full crop and the tail end of the fish.
Harry got up off the eggs but made no attempt to get the fish. He flew off.
Flora walked the fish tail to the nest cup then let go. As she settled down, she picked up the tail with her beak and placed it at the front of the cup.
She may well be incubating it now!
