LM6 had a quick fly off and returned at 10.14.
With soft contact calls she approached LJ2
He seemed to be quite comfy sitting there. LM6 padded back and forward.
Eventually LJ2 got up
and LM6 took over incubation.
LM6 did some preening on the nest. 11.44 LJ2 joined her
and took over incubation as LM6 flew off.
LM6 managed to get some grooming time on the perch
before returning to the nest at just after midday.
She waited with LJ2 for a few minutes but he wasn’t for budging, so LM6 flew off and tried again a few minutes later.
Again, LJ2 wouldn’t move so LM6 starting arranging sticks.
LJ2 started to get up and LM6 moved in but to no avail as LJ2 resettled on the eggs.
New tactics had to be adopted. I don’t know if she was pulling at the bedding or LJ2’s feathers but this did the trick!
LJ2 flew off and LM6 was on the eggs in a flash.
12.45 and the day is drying up. The wind can be heard on the microphone. LM6 still on the eggs.
The dry spell didn’t last long and by 14.00 the rain was on again. 14.40 It’s quite heavy just now. LM6 still on the eggs.
15.25 LJ2 was on the eggs. He got up for a wing shake and a quick fly around before coming back to incubate within a minute.
15.45 changeover to LM6
16.54 LJ2 returns. LM6 is asking for fish.
It’s hard to tell because of the rain blobs but LJ2 may have pulled at LM6’s head to get her off the eggs? It worked anyway.LJ2 is on the eggs now as LM6 flew off.
LJ2 is feeling sleepy. He was dozing on the perch before he came to the nest.
17.06 LM6 returned and got her place back on the eggs.
She is sleepy too. Within a few minutes, her head was lowered and eyes closing.
18.46 LM6 stands up and rolls one of the eggs and pecks at the bedding underneath before settling back down again.
