MANTON BAY - MAY 2023

As usual LAM we will look forward to your reports and it will be nice to go when they are a bit older.

It is stressful at times watching them!! And with four - it is not easy. Just because there is plentiful fish means nothing. We must have good weather that she can extend feeds for the younger chicks plus they need shelter and four is a lot!! But they have done it - twice also other nests so we just have to keep our fingers crossed for them.

Yes the boats are sort of opposite the hides and they can see everyone but it is a safe distance back.

My brother also follows the ospreys and has done so since about 2005 and loves fishing the water as often they have dived close to the boat sometimes giving them a fright.

I've got to go out now so catch up later.

Good morning all, well am I so delighted to read the news this morning, after last night I was so saddened, as I thought we could have had upset today, I have been thinking about these bobs ever since. As LAM says, we do this for a hobby!! With the carry on at Lowes last week and now here, oh dear. Never mind, hopefully all 4 will be fine and 3 and 4 get their food share. Thanks for the updates, I really have to get to work. Will check in after dinner.

No dates planned yet Karen but yes when we do we will do some on the spots for you :-)
That must be very exciting having them dive so close to the boat. You should take up fishing and go with your brother :-)

Yes Catlady perhaps hobby not the right word really as its hardly the same as a round of golf but suppose meaning to say that we do this for our love of nature and ospreys to take away other stresses of our lives and we end up super stressed :-)

Where is #4?

Poor Bob4, welcome to the world! Luckily it seems OK this morning, but the 4.48am fish-bashing really wasn't needed.

Have caught up now after last night's tragic events which has been difficult owing to the desperately slow forum this morning ... so pleased to see that pesky fish has now been removed! Hoping to see some proper response from chick #4 with regard to feeding! Many thanks all for the updates!

Hi Wendy, totally agree - we need to see more of #4. Never saw it all at the last feed. If only it was sunny and Maya was up that would allow the chicks to spread out a bit.

#1 and #2 appeared full so hopefully they wont need much next feed and we see #4. I am just wondering where it is?

Oh fabulous Karen what wonderful pictures and all very recognisable to tie in from our perspective too! How lovely to see the nest from that angle it does look close and please let us see any more if you would be so kind next week.
Pleased to see three chicks so strong now such a relief! But very concerned for chick 4 :-(

Of course I'll post more when I get them LAM, and as you say, it all ties in with your perspective.

I too am concerned for #4 - we should be seeing up with its siblings now.
