This is a new thread following the Osprey nest at Alyth electricity sub station, located in the Perth and Kinross region.
The Ospreys have nested at the site for many years, first year was around 1990.
They were nesting on a nearby electricity tower, but due to a planned expansion of the site a decision was taken to resite the old nest to a specially constructed 25-metre nesting tower and two nearby 8.5 metre resting perches, which were erected in 2014. Advice was sought from Roy Dennis.Since that first breeding season in 2014, a total of 14 osprey chicks have been observed to have fledged from the new site.
The resident ospreys are called Harry and Flora, named by a local school in Alyth. All pupils were also given their own osprey soft toy as a thank you from the teams for getting involved and for showing such enthusiasm about the ospreys.

IMAGICAT
Early evening fish delivery, it’s amazing how quickly Flora senses Harry is coming before he appears on camera. (35secs)
And off she goes
And Harry settles down.
05.40 Early morning headless fish delivery. Flora gets up to receive it.
Flora takes the fish and flies off
returning at 06.16 with a small piece in her right talons.
Harry flies off and Flora leaves the piece of fish on the nest.
Flora starts moving the plastic sheeting before she settles down on her egg.
Harry has been taking his share of egg sitting over and above after fish deliveries.
The ospreys have been pecking at the plastic from time to time. One piece that had become unattached flew away.
And there it goes
Still large pieces around the nest cup unfortunately.
Flora was calling for Harry but he wasn’t around, hopefully away fishing.
She left for a quick comfort break and returned within half a minute.
Landing on the perch then down to settle in at the nest.
15.20 headless fish delivery
Flora takes the fish in her beak
and heads straight off.
Another wee headless fish is dropped off.
Flora quickly collects it in her beak
and flies off for her snack.
She is back in under 20 minutes.
The 2 birds share gentle contact calls
and Harry gets up to let Flora back on the egg.
