This is a new thread following the Osprey nest at Alyth electricity sub station, located in the Perth and Kinross region.
The Ospreys have nested at the site for many years, first year was around 1990.
They were nesting on a nearby electricity tower, but due to a planned expansion of the site a decision was taken to resite the old nest to a specially constructed 25-metre nesting tower and two nearby 8.5 metre resting perches, which were erected in 2014. Advice was sought from Roy Dennis.Since that first breeding season in 2014, a total of 14 osprey chicks have been observed to have fledged from the new site.
The resident ospreys are called Harry and Flora, named by a local school in Alyth. All pupils were also given their own osprey soft toy as a thank you from the teams for getting involved and for showing such enthusiasm about the ospreys.

The birds have endured the bad weather and shared incubation.
Flora started fish calling at 16.14 quietly, it soon got louder
she continued until 16.46 when Harry approached the nest. She got up in preparation to receive the fish
that Harry didn’t bring!! Flora flew off as soon as she clocked this.
Flora is currently on the eggs and guess what she is doing?!! Harry has his ear defenders on I think!
18.20 Flora flies back to the nest and can’t you hear her Harry?!
Is your hearing better in this ear?!Flora quickly settles onto the eggs, still giving Harry grief!
20.11 And Flora is calling again.
Such a beautiful evening after the horrendous rain earlier in the day.
Flora stands up calling vigorously
Harry is incoming with a fish. Wouldn’t this make a fabulous painting? That sky tonight
Flora collects the fish and it’s a tiny live one.
She actually manages to transfer it to her talons
and flies off with it. It won’t take long to eat. Harry settles on the eggs. The evening is so calm and peaceful with the sound of the skylarks filling the air.
21.07 Flora is back
She announces her arrival
Harry gets up and leaves. Flora moves the eggs before settling down.
