This is a new thread following the Osprey nest at Alyth electricity sub station, located in the Perth and Kinross region.
The Ospreys have nested at the site for many years, first year was around 1990.
They were nesting on a nearby electricity tower, but due to a planned expansion of the site a decision was taken to resite the old nest to a specially constructed 25-metre nesting tower and two nearby 8.5 metre resting perches, which were erected in 2014. Advice was sought from Roy Dennis.Since that first breeding season in 2014, a total of 14 osprey chicks have been observed to have fledged from the new site.
The resident ospreys are called Harry and Flora, named by a local school in Alyth. All pupils were also given their own osprey soft toy as a thank you from the teams for getting involved and for showing such enthusiasm about the ospreys.

14.00 Flora was very excited vocally to get a nice headless fish delivery.
She quickly grabbed it with her beak
and tried to transfer to her talons. They just slid up and down the body.
So she just kept the fish in her beak and flew off.
Harry began his incubation on the nest.
An hour later he left the nest for a quick comfort break.
And returned
Within a few seconds, Flora returned too.
Harry left the nest and went straight down to chase the crows.
Flora on the nest all night. Tucked up soundly.
Then the horrible rain came. Diagonal at first,
then horizontal.
Flora took a quick comfort break.
Back in under a minute.
More rain, looking heavier.
Harry arrives to relieve Flora.
She shortly returns with another piece of plastic.
and quickly settles onto the eggs before Harry has even left.
16.48 Flora got a tail end from Harry.
She flew off with it in her talons.
and returned with natural materials for the nest, yes! which she then put into place.
19.40 Flora is fish calling
but Harry comes in empty taloned.
21.39 no more fish deliveries
Night cam came on to reveal it’s actually raining.
Hopefully an early fish delivery in the morning.
Flora had another miserable night of bad weather to endure.
Day cam just switched on. Dawn chorus in full swing with the song of the skylarks heard above all.
I think Flora has been on the nest all of the time. It’s been difficult to tell at times with all of that rain.
Flora preening her wet feathers.
Since I haven’t seen Harry, hope that means he’s been away fishing.
