This is a new thread following the Osprey nest at Alyth electricity sub station, located in the Perth and Kinross region.
The Ospreys have nested at the site for many years, first year was around 1990.
They were nesting on a nearby electricity tower, but due to a planned expansion of the site a decision was taken to resite the old nest to a specially constructed 25-metre nesting tower and two nearby 8.5 metre resting perches, which were erected in 2014. Advice was sought from Roy Dennis.Since that first breeding season in 2014, a total of 14 osprey chicks have been observed to have fledged from the new site.
The resident ospreys are called Harry and Flora, named by a local school in Alyth. All pupils were also given their own osprey soft toy as a thank you from the teams for getting involved and for showing such enthusiasm about the ospreys.

Flora takes it in her beak and leaves.
She returns soon after with some grasses in her talons. Harry leaves and quickly returns to the perch. He doesn’t stay long though as he has spotted the noisy corvids in the neighbouring tree and engages in aerial battles with them.
Later, oh dear, the corvids are now chasing Harry to the nest.
He arrives with some nesting material
and an escort.Harry safe on the nest, the crows return to their tree.
He has more crow chasing again as the day goes on. Flora returns to the nest with more plastic. After the birds have swapped places on the eggs, Harry stays on the nest.
Flora doesn’t like this arrangement as she feels he should go and catch her another fish.
19.44 Harry flies in with the smallest of tail ends for Flora.
Cracking action screen shots, Glider!
Thanks Sandra.
09.31 Here is the headless fish delivery this morning for Flora.
She leaves with her breakfast in her talons.
Flora returns with the straggly skin/tail end.
She leaves it on the nest. Harry flies off to chase the neighbours.
After some chasing, he returns to the perch.
Harry briefly flies off again and lands back on the perch. Then he notices the fish tail and goes down to retrieve it.
He leaves with it in his beak.
The weather turns to rain, it’s windy and must be cold up there.
but those eggs will be toasty under Flora.
Ugh, what a night, diagonal rain.
