HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a peaceful, safe, serene week!
It's been very frustrating. I tried to post once again yesterday, and several times today, but nothing worked. Now hoping to get my message on here. We got here OK after a good journey yesterday. After that it was all downhill, as we struggled with the heating, getting only a bit of warmth from the radiators. Today, my OH worked out what was wrong: the Site Manager had drained the entire system as he was worried about the freezing conditions in the winter. Then he had refilled the system this week with water, but not with enough water. Now we have some warmth. At the same time, we found that the WiFi wasn't always working. That, combined with strange effects on this RSPB Site, means I don't know if and when I can safely post anything.
We had a very cold night last night in a structure which was cold from standing empty all winter, then with a weak heating arrangement, and frost on the ground. Ugh. So if I disappear we may be alright, just absent!
My tulips before we left home.
Blue hyacinths.
I haven't had any problems with the site. Maybe a UK hiccup...
bjane: I just happened to stop by the Weather Channel and there's a repeat of a program chronicling the derecho that hit Cedar Rapids on August 20, 2020. Just horrific. That must've been terrifying.
Annette-It was terrifying but I was so busy trying to get 4 cats into the basement that I didn't think about it until it was over. Thanks for letting me know about the program. Of course I have the Derecho book from our Cedar Rapids Gazette along with the book about the 2008 flood. Starting a collection of books about our city's disasters LOL. We had a major tornado in 1965 that I also missed due to a baby and a dog who were both sick before and during the tornado. My sons slept through it all!! The Gazette didn't put out a book about that one.
