HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a peaceful, safe, serene week!

  • COVID! with the extra complication of a bacterial infection. Been quite ill this week - but managed to stay out of hospital after fire and rescue lifted me off the floor onto my bed. Stayed in bed two days then been up in chair to try to help my chest to clear. Can't sit here long enough to read through, so just my best wishes to you all - will be back soon I hope.
  • Dang OG! Is it just you or did EE and J get it too? I had a bout with it a few weeks back and OH didn't get it at all. Take care.
  • Oh dear, OG. Thought you'd been a bit quiet. Glad that at least you were able to keep out of hospital. Do have everything crossed for you to Get Well Soon, and hope that the others don't have it or catch it.

    Diane, you need a bit of a helping hand from Somewhere Up There, as you battle with things. {{HUGS}}
  • OG: Covid!!! Bless your heart. You did not need that right now--or ever! I'm so very sorry. I hope you can kick it completely very soon. Sending you healing energy. I'm glad you're staying out of the hospital. Feel better, my friend.
  • BJANE: Thank you so very much for making the time and effort to give me that helpful information. I know posting isn't easy for you, so I appreciate it!

    ANNETTE, thank you and HEATHER and RUSTY and DIBNLIB and LINDY and everyone for your kind words.

    AQ: Good luck driving.
  • OG – On no, not covid plus. You are having a rough time. I’m sending you healing prayers.

    Yesterday my car and I had a little outing. Dau had last driven it and the outside mirror was wrong. . . now how do I alter it. . . oh, yes, thus. Using my right eye is a little weird but I shall take it slowly until I adjust.

    Some spare time this arvo and I stupidly thought the soil would be damp after recent showers. Not so! Anyway I have planted the first of my spring-flowering bulbs – Iris and Black Pearls. I hope I remember which Iris clump is which as I am curious what colours I get from the new pack of 4 “mixed”. Mostly white I guess as I have plenty already. Next will be bluebells and the unidentified.

  • OG - oh no!! I wonder where you caught it? I am so sorry. You sound to have got it quite badly. I wonder how you ended up on the floor. What a nasty experience. I do hope you are now on the road to recovery and that EE and J don’t catch it. They must both have been very worried.
    Talking of covid, I had a letter yesterday inviting me for a covid jab in May. I expect it is because, after the cancer, I must be on the vulnerable list. I will go for it even though it is only 5 days before a friend and I set off on a short coach holiday.
    AQ - so glad you got out for a short drive. Well done for getting back out there. You must be happy to have your independence back. It’s always nice to plant bulbs and then see the results in the spring. I am enjoying things I planted in pots last autumn. I planted my sweet peas yesterday.
    I am looking forward to a short visit from a friend and her OH this morning (coffee and cakes) as they return home from a weeks holiday in North Wales. I am well positioned (geographically) for a little break on people’s journeys!!!
  • OG - I'm so sorry about the Covid - and complications. Plus the fall. I'm guessing that your legs collapsed as EE was transferring you from bed to wheelchair ? Good that you managed to stay at home this time, I know how much you detest being in hospital. Sending best thoughts to you both.
  • OG So very sorry to hear you have a very nasty bout of covid, you must be thoroughly fed up. Glad you avoided hospital. Glad the fire and rescue service were able to help.
  • Diane - The biggest difference between Medigap plans and Medicare Avantage plans: Medigap comes with unlimited choices for care, while Medicare Advantage offers extra benefits and often no monthly premiums. I, myself, went with a Medicare Advantage plan which I've had for years with Humana  through a major heart arrack, emergency appendectomy and other minor incidents. Have not regretted my decision. Also get dental, vision and other benefits.
