News from Other Nests - 2023

Saw this on a YouTube chat today at 5:55-5:57 pm: "​My son is on a walking holiday in Scotland and has just texted me that he has seen two ospreys. He was between Kirk Michael and Glenisla but I have no idea where that is. Might these be 'known'. No details as to whether they had rings or not or if that is near a known location." I have also posted this on the Osprey Sightings thread.

It is on the southern edge of the Cairngorms. I am sure there must be osprey in the area. Alyth is south of there, and I think Balgavies would be east of there.

Not sure if it would be ok to post the person's YT name here, but if you have time to post the information you gave us above onto Dyfi YT chat, she probably would appreciate it. I am not registered to post on YouTube (this is my only social media posting site--I just read a few other sites) or else I would add your information about those nearest nests myself. I can send you her YT name by PM if you would like it.

I am happy that you pass this on, Ann. I am confident what I have said is in the public domain, and a search on Google Earth pin points the River Isla, which I assume in in Glenisla - but perhaps I shouldn't 'assume'!!

I would do what you suggest (pass on your information), but unfortunately, I have no way of doing that--I am not registered with YT and do not know the woman personally--sorry (never mind--these things do happen!)

Here is an article about a very successful nest in the Cairngorms raising 59 chicks since it was first built 30 years ago. I don't know which nest it is if it is recognised by some other name.
