.News from Other Nests 2022
First, a fantastic resource for international cams given to us by LISA K last year:
Nature Chat
Last season we included Tweed Valley (cam not yet up), Alyth and others that I can't bring to mind right now. Let's see how this season goes before deciding which cams may now require their own thread.

Awww, what a tender moment! Check out this short video posted on Friends of Threave Osprey Fb yesterday (18 seconds long but does go into a loop)

Aww, so sweet. I’ve seen a female feed the male but not the other way around. I’m taking it as a good sign for a successful season.
08 May
This afternoon I came across "Angel", a leucistic Red-tailed Hawk - she was being victimised by a Blue Jay at the time so I did a video - conveniently, Dad popped in and out - apparently he's a youngster and I believe he accidentally killed the first chick, being unaware of what it was, therefore there's just the one survivor here.
(During the rather torturous recording process, I unknowingly set a 500+ playlist of videos to download, with disastrous results for my regular cams - and some judderiness in this RTH vid.)
News from the golden eagle nest at bucovina
Yesterday Lucina accidentally flipped the oldest chick out of the nest bowl as it hung on to a big piece of food..She didn't try to get it back into the nestbowl, instead just watched it as it died (at was very cold, about 4 C, so it didn't suffer long).When it died she fed the dead chick to the surviving youngster.It is always hard to watch, but this is how it works I guess. And it is interesting how this works for different species.. or is it the species? Maybe they are young still (like what happened at the Leucistic Hawk when Dad killed the new hatched chick).I can't find much information on Golden Eagles actually.. There is a lot of talk in chat about the survival chances of more than one chick in the nest, but I seriously lack data on that.. Any tips are appreciated..Anyway.. below the video of what happened yesterday.. as I said.. it's hard to watch, so be prepared;

I seem to have lost the ability to watch "tooth & claw, in the raw" but very much appreciate your strength and conscientiousness, BART - it needs to be done for people to learn.
A little bobblehead reported at Threave today on their Facebook
