.News from Other Nests 2022
First, a fantastic resource for international cams given to us by LISA K last year:
Nature Chat
Last season we included Tweed Valley (cam not yet up), Alyth and others that I can't bring to mind right now. Let's see how this season goes before deciding which cams may now require their own thread.

I just wanted to flag on this thread today's news that
1) Clwyedog 2020 male Blue 550 has established a natural nest in mid Wales with an unidentified female. They are not thought to have raised chicks this year but will heopfully benefit from their work building the nest in future and
2) as detailed in a new John Williams blog THERE IS A SECOND NEST ON LLYN CLYWEDOG. The female is Blue Z5 who hatched in 2020 from the BM nest in Snowdonia, and the male is unringed. Z5 is a daughter of Z1, whose parents were Monty and Glesni at Dyfi. They have raised one female chick this year who has been ringed as 7B9.
Despite the loss of 8B1 to goshawk predation this has been a fabulous season for Clywedog.

Seek and ye shall find, eventually!
2023 saw the return of Blue KS1(18)f from Glaslyn and her unringed male, for a second year.
They raised two females, Blue 9C6(23)f and Blue 9C7(23)f.
For those with FB you can read about it on Yorkshire Dales Moorland Group, where you can find photos of the ringing. They are both quite dark headed, much like Mrs G.

I am not sure whether this is the actual nest, but assume it is. It is of the couple back in April reuniting!
I also came across a report of a successful nest in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It was a bit confusing, but I think three chicks fledged.

Thank goodness you did Sheila, such wonderful news, thank you!
Even more good news about the nest in Ireland, maybe they'll set up live streaming?
Terrific newses, SHEILA - many thanks indeed!
Here's the third and final episode of Scotland: the New Wild, broadcast on BBC Scotland tonight. This episode is called Highlands, and features Ospreys about halfway through. Not sure which nest it is.
