Dorcha bringing her one and only fish on 18th August 2022 before departing and not being seen again
Louis incubating the eggs while Aila is seen flying with a fish in the misty distance on 9th May 2020.
All captures in whatever format are copyright Woodland Trust - with many thanks for allowing captures from their nest cam livestreams
16.36.29 Fish number two, headless silver tourist, big and beefy
Is that another Osprey calling in the background right after Dorcha takes possession? Both heads go up.
16.58-17.10 Zoom of the unringed Osprey on Nest One. Think it is Louis but not100% sure. Two very quick visits, bringing a stick each time. If it is Louis, what’s he doing bringing sticks?
He flies off towards the solar panels both times, livestream is glitching a little.
19.34 - 20.49 This was a special request - a speeded up video of Dorcha battling the dry moss, heather, other vegetation just brought in by Louis. It gets tangled up in her beak along with feathers. I set it to Saint-Saëns.
Carnival of the feathers..
Apparently a bad night for Dorcha, getting knocked off nest by an Owl and then dived bombed after returning to nest.

Can’t see if an egg got knocked off with her.
Knocks her off the nest with the first strike, she comes back, and so does the owl. She gets a second hard strike but stays on.
Oh no! Yes an egg does go over the side. So near to hatching! Disaster!
super slo-mo shows an egg going over to the right during the third strike.
This is shocking ... knowing that she has lost an egg and the way she calls out is heartbreaking. Nature can be so cruel.
Real time version - it's so quick!
