2022 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 13th March; NC0(16) - 23rd March
Looking forward to welcoming back Laddie and NC0 to this wonderful location at Loch of the Lowes. Will Laddie, in his 12th season, beat his earliest arrival date that he achieved last year? Will NC0, her 4th season, be heard before she is seen on cam? Could we see the return of their 2021 offspring, LR1 and LR2? Here's hoping they have safe, spring migrations so as to grace our screens once again.

14:24 An excellent changeover which showed how in-tune Laddie and NC0 are with each other!
NC0 up, flapping and making short contact calls
Unsure if she saw something she wasn't keen on
She took flight
Laddie arrived under 30 seconds later making short contact calls
NC0 flew to the birch from behind the left side of the cam
15:18 Same positions

15:43 Laddie off. NC0 down from above the cam
16:16 Laddie to the nest
NC0 was pecking at her Darvic ring
Preening
Mating
She settled back down on the egg
While Laddie was on the nest, NC0 was giving occasional fish calls
16:40 Laddie with something for the nest (a piece of bark?) NC0 was already off the egg
NC0 flapped her wings
She headed off
16:55 After having her short break, NC0 returned, Laddie off the nest. Hopefully, Laddie was off fishing
18:38 NC0 is still incubating
At 18:55ish, I heard intruder alarm calls/chips. There was some activity over at the birch area - two Ospreys, I think - wings flapping/landings within the greener area, far left side of the birch/flying around. NC0 took flight and headed that way but was soon back incubating.
(Apologies, slightly difficult to get any decent pics at present, will try on 0.25 speed and will post them when/if I'm able to)
Edit: Flapping wings look like extensions of the branches unfortunately - you'll all just have to believe me that it happened! lol The occurrence would require a video...)
19:57 Laddie with a headless fish delivery. he was chipping as he flew to the nest. NC0 rose from incubation and headed off to the birch. Laddie still with the fish at the back of the nest
A flap of her wings before leaving to go the birch
She didn't stay away long and flew off. She could be seen talon dipping behind the back, left trees. Laddie stepped away from the fish
She made a circular flight (anticlockwise) to come back to the nest, landing on the perch
After resting, she came onto the nest to retrieve the fish
Both looked around before NC0 took her fish to the birch
Laddie began his incubation
Laddie just before night cam switch over (NC0's reflection) at 20:32
Could hear calls from a Tawny owl at time of posting
23:50 Laddie still incubating
Up a few minute later and off for a comfort break
He was away from the nest for around a minute
He made a contact call on landing
He finally got himself settled when NC0 arrived on the nest perch with the remainder of her fish at 23:57
00:03 Laddie up from the egg and with a contact call, left the nest
NC0 down to the nest, fish in left talons
She released her grip of the fish and headed towards the nest cup
Settled at 00:04
Cam went down @ 05:45-ish.
Laddie had just come in to take over, but not been here long enough to have sat down properly !!!
