2022 return dates: LM12 (Laddie) - 13th March; NC0(16) - 23rd March
Looking forward to welcoming back Laddie and NC0 to this wonderful location at Loch of the Lowes. Will Laddie, in his 12th season, beat his earliest arrival date that he achieved last year? Will NC0, her 4th season, be heard before she is seen on cam? Could we see the return of their 2021 offspring, LR1 and LR2? Here's hoping they have safe, spring migrations so as to grace our screens once again.

Morning All,
Laddie came to the nest with a headless fish at 6:31
He didn't stay long and headed off to the birch
Laddie left the birch and was back at the nest with it at 6:52
NC0 looked but didn't attempt to take it from him
Off he went with his breakfish
7:20 At present, Laddie is on the feeding perch of the birch
Edit: 7:21 NC0 flew off

7:55 ENS. I can't quite make out if both are on the split birch
Edit: 7:57 A flight away
Off now. BBL

8:38 Laddie flapped down from above the cam with his remaining fish
He left it on the nest (behind him) NC0 spied it
NC0 flew off to eat
12:35 Mating
Cam zoomed in on NC0 at 12:15ish
Checking the split in her Darvic ring perhaps?

Lol, Karen, I'd recognise her anywhere! It was a bonus that some of her BTO ring numbers were visible in the close-up pics earlier so that would be an indicator.
NC0's head marking is a lovely teardrop shape (pic taken 22.3.23) and she has a full chest of dark feathers. There is a slight white gap, close to her eyes, where the facial bands lead up to. Of course, she is a huge bird and her voice...well!
We were treated to some zoomed shots of Laddie this afternoon at 13:56ish
Glider said:Thanks Sandra, looks like the darvic ring will soon fall off.
I think I'd prefer it if it did to be honest, I don't think we'd want NC0 to catch is on a stick or such like which may injure her leg.
19:03 Laddie delivered a small fish supper for NC0. It was a quick catch as he'd only left the nest 3 minutes prior to landing with it!
NC0 has brought most of the light green, fluffy moss(?)/lichen sticks to the nest this evening. This from 18:37ish
19:38 Both on the birch
20:22 Laddie on the low branch of the birch; NC0 on her diving one
