CJ7 left the perch, landed on the nest.
Left the nest, landed again.
Left again and came back with a stick
Stayed on the nest this time and 022 eventually got up and flew off.
09.37 CJ7 got back onto the eggs to resume incubation.
09.40 There was a loud bang, like a gunshot and CJ7 immediately left the nest.
A couple of other birds were seen flying away in the background too.
09.46 The eggs were left unattended for 6 minutes until CJ7 returned.
12.33 A bang again sends CJ7 flying
2 minutes later, 022 flies onto the nest to incubate.

Thanks Richard
From the chat this morning, 022 was seen catching a fish from the boat trip at around 09.24. Lucky people
He brought it to the nest at 11.35, a fine headless rainbow trout.
Initially CJ7 tried to grab the fish from the nest cup
Then she got up and cagily walked round to the other side, not wanting to drag the fish over the eggs.
She took a grip with her talons,
hopefully more securely than her fish yesterday (that she dropped)
Off she goes
If that fish was witnessed being caught on the harbour boat trip then it's not a Rainbow Trout.
Just had a look at playback and it's a Mullet

Thanks Richard. I’m not familiar with mullet, guess I’m not so familiar with rainbow trout either then!!
I shall try and remember for the next time.
08.54 Morning headless fish delivery from 022
Looks like a mullet - Richard? I’ve tried to show its flank.
