Hope the offending, indeed frightening black plastic has gone for good

Poor 022 was frightened by the plastic as it “slithered” up the nest. Then he swooped in at speed to attack it as it got near to the eggs. Still being stuck in his talons on returning then he managed to let it go and it blew off.

I hope this is a lesson for him about plastic and he avoids it at all times now.

022 brought more of his beloved plastic to the nest today

CJ7 left him to it and he spent some time spreading it around the nest, for a little while covering the eggs with it, then he settled down on both the eggs and the plastic, thankfully I think the eggs were under him rather than the plastic by this time

he seemed quite happy until the wind got under the plastic again....

I really hope he realises at some point that plastic is bad news... I guess it must not be blowing about wherever he picks it up from, unless the blowing about only seems a threat once its at the nest.

Third egg laid at 16.18 today.
