Unfortunately, at 14.49 a large piece of black plastic was carried in by 022. He did this last year as well. Let’s hope a strong gust of wind will dislodge it sometime soon.

By last night they'd pinned down the black plastic sheet with sticks:

Routine start to the day:

It's be bucketing down this morning, windy too, a couple of sticks have been blown off the nest.

022 (I think) popped in very early but only for a few moments:

Later, CJ7 popped in for much less than one minute!

Looking at the forecast it's going to get a lot windier down here in the next 48 hours, any sensible birds will be in hiding.

Yes, very windy on the nest today. 022 tried to mate a few times but it was too tricky. However, he did bring in a half fish at 09.08

CJ7 took it in her beak and flew off still holding it there.

Later after 15.00, 022 returned with more black plastic sheeting

He flew off the nest with it still attached to his talons but unfortunately brought it back again. It became dislodged on the nest this time.

CJ7 was on the nest later and tried to place the plastic in with some twigs, the wind wrapped it around her.

but when she left the nest, the plastic lifted and blew up and off

to the side branches.

Still the giant piece remains. 

Both on the nest this evening, and flitting between the nest and campost.
