Birdwatching today!!!!!

Ha ha Annette!!

Good Morning. My phone says its minus 10 here this morning, and not going to rise above minus 2 all day today. Certainly feels cold, and looks grim outside. My OH put hot water in our bird bath yesterday and a whole lot of sparrows came down to have a party! Fun to see.

Rusty, enjoy your stay in the dramatic peaks of Wales. So beautiful there.

Went to visit Sue yesterday and had mince pies and chocolates She has new central heating, which is thankfully keeping her toasty warm. She has had a relative who has been struggling since having a bad stroke, and has been trying to come home from hospital, but sadly has now had to be put into care as not well enough to return home yet, if ever. Very sad for her family

LINDA - With a max today of 21 C, people here are moaning about the cold. "It is supposed to be summer", they cry. I don't mind this weather although I cannot yet pack away my jumpers that I washed. I don't think I have ever experienced minus degrees.

RUSTY - hope you are enjoying your winter holiday. Keep wrapped up warm.

No change to our weather yet - still minus 7.7 every day when I have breakfast! Getting rather bored staying indoors - but at least the sun is shining. Even OH is indoors most of the time - morning trip outside to check birds and greenhouse, then mid afternoon to get food from garage freezer. Garage water supply is frozen, but I think it is the pipe leading to it, so leaving it well alone in hope of avoiding burst pipes.

Condolences to UK folks with those minus readings.

Lindybird:  I can relate to #2 and #9.:-)    

OG; Re burst pipes - I seem to remember that we left some taps running (very slowly) to avoid freezing.   Our ancient house in Watford had outside pipes; I imagine that's not happening these days?

AQ:  69F sounds wonderful in any season.  

Diane:  How are temps in your area?  Has that storm been and gone or did it miss you?  

Oh joy.  Dentist at 8:15 for a filling ; annual mammogram at 9:30.....

After yet another cancellation of my NHS check up and a rescheduled appt in November next year I have finally given up and booked with a private dentist for a check up in mid January.
