I sighed when looking at the clock display on my radio, this morning -
Anyway, have been busy doing several loads of washing for my eldest daughter, whose machine has died and can't be repaired until Tuesday.

I walked down the road to have coffee with a friend this morning. I was very pleased that I didn’t feel tired after walking back up the hill.

It's been an odd day, but then I usually feel a bit discombobulated by the hour change. Visited Sue, who has been doing more things to settle into her new abode. We ate biscuits, even though we had both said that we'll watch our weight now we're back home. On the way, we noticed that the leaves on the trees are beautiful everywhere, and at the local War Memorial, someone has made a carpet of poppies cascading down from the figure of a soldier carved from a tree trunk. (Which is the memorial).

My OH decided to throw out a pair of trousers which he's been wearing on holidays for years and years. "They're getting tight" he announced. He wears size 38inch waist and was wondering whether to go up a size in future as he's become heavier around the middle. As I took them from him, I asked if he'd looked at the inside label - he's been wearing them for about 15 to 20 years and they state that they're 36 inches!!!

We had advance notice that our water would be off from 9 pm to 6 am for improved service. I filled the kettle & jugs, left a bucket of water in toilet for overnight visits and cleaned my teeth from a mug. When I emerged this morning, OH said I was ahead of myself. It is tonight, not last night. So who in this house has cognitive decline?

5.30 pm and a few valiant Trick-or-Treaters fighting the gusty winds and showers.
