Makov Animal Rescue Station
One of our favourites.
The Pond cam has remained throughout the year, with new-to-us maturing cygnets and fawns still at the bottle-feeding stage:
No table manners !!!
The second cam has been a White Stork nest, which I have not been following during Osprey season. The nest is very close to the ground because the Storks can't fly!
Today I find that the second cam has reverted to the birdie feeder we love - except it's been totally refurbished! (Wish they'd zoom out just a teeny tad.) Improved sound !!! And look who popped in a few seconds after I started the download
This was an incidental I came across on BirdwatchingHQ (you know how he hosts lots of cams unrelated to his own):
"Nocturnal thieves..."
IMAGICAT
How wonderful that the otter is so greatly cared for . I hope people donate to this site (although I don't) - Thanks Scylla, a really enjoyable video
Unknown said:as she turned her feathers were certainly brown and not black
No problem re her feather colour, it was her throat/upper breast that gave me pause - if only she'da turned around to face us! In this shot there appears to be facial marking too.
Royal Albatross - what a cosy little get-together! I've no idea who was who:
That night, the Rabbit was back - this time the Albatross parent tried to use vocal deterrents but the Rabbit took little notice:
Next day, FIVE socialising adults:
Well, she might have been a little leucistic I suppose, But anyway. A BB she is . The call she made is often used by parents ''speaking'' to juveniles when introducing them to things that are good to eat (amongst other reasons). I have BBs sitting on my garden fence making that same call to draw my attention to the fact that there are no sultanas on the lawn and they wait whilst I get the bag and show them and when I sprinkle them around they will fly down even when i am still sprinkling . In the summer they'll even come up to my garden chair if I am sitting out as a big hint and then they'll fly up to the fence whilst I get the 'sweetie'' bag.
What a superb portrait ! Magnificent background sky. Mother and Child by Scylla - worthy to be hung in the Tate
Thanks Scylla
YouTube has suddenly changed its "protocol" (whatever that is) and my downloader has stopped working, full stop. This has happened before but this time, probably, "they" won't be able to issue a fix until after the weekend. I'm not the only customer waiting impatiently In the meantime, I've got completed footage to go thru.
Some random bits from Royal Albatross:
Golly, the rabbits were certainly not intimidated by the Albatross's large beak! Thanks Scylla
Final roundup.
17 Feb - early evening - quite inactive corvids for a few minutes - make the most of it, guys
It was even nastier than this on the PC cam:
It was too misty to see what was going on at the owl boxes.
Lowes
17th - Storm Otto sounded worse than it looked, and 2 Corvids spent nearly 10 minutes on the nest (difficult to see because of the light conditions):
I also had "Corvid flies in backwards" from the other day that I was going to stick on the front of the above but I forgot!
Boreal Ontario
I'm using the Common Redpoll to tell YouTubers why I'm not uploading anything for lord-knows-how-many days:
.
My downloads folder is EMPTY
Ah well, Scylla, you certainly triumphed for a good long while, thank you and Starr Ranch Barnies will do excellently
