HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY NEW MOON and HAPPY NEW MONTH!

Today was the new moon. I can't believe that this week will be the beginning of September! Where does the time go? It feels like I just started a new thread a day ago.

I hope you all have a healthy, joyful, serene week! Enjoy the last of summer.

We are back home, after reasonable journey- busy roads as I think lots of folks decided to travel today instead of yesterday!

My OH drove all the way there & all the way back again, whereas we usually share the driving. I don't trust my eyes now as I'm definitely being affected by my cataracts. Maybe time to do something about it.

My OH had a quick lunch, then headed off to the allotment. He had told a fellow gardener to help himself to beans, but he thinks no-one has - there are so many, we will have to give some away.

Glad to hear that the little cat is now settling in. :-)

Lindy - glad you are home safely. Sorry to hear about the cataracts. I would get on the list if I were you. Some friends have been waiting ages. Mind you. That is the Welsh NHS. Talking of which, I took my friend to orthopaedics again today. Her arm is healing but she has to keep the brace on for yet another 3 weeks. She was very down at that news and I couldn’t manage to cheer her up. Even the Bara Brith (lovely Welsh fruit loaf) didn’t help. It is her loss of independence she misses and the fact that she has to ask for lifts. She lives out in the wilds nowhere near a bus route.

AQ - interesting murals on silos, certainly brightens them up. A lovely one of Colin and pelican. Glad you were unable to enjoy the trip even if things look rundown. All praise to peoples resilience in continuing to live in these places.

Rusty - hope friends appointment went ok and that brace has come off at last.

Lindy - pleased to hear you are home safe but do get those cataracts seen to. I had one done pre covid and was advised at my last checkup at Specsavers to have the other one done - said I would wait till next year and try and get a referral from them.

Lindybird: Had my cataracts done in April. Here they do them two weeks apart. Worst part is all those drops you have to put in but it's well worth it!

Many thanks for the good wishes -- It's a sunny morning here & we plan to go out to lunch, so must get going now & feed the washer, & put stuff on the line before we leave!

Cards on the mat when we got home yesterday, so will open them now. 21 again!! I remember when young longing for the next birthday, but now its becoming rather too often! I'm sure I had one 6 months ago LOL!
